Columbia ParCar Delivers Electric Vehicles to Fort Knox Army Base

Wisconsin-based Columbia Parcar has delivered 39 electric vehicles to the Army base at Fort Knox. The vehicles are part of an 1,000 vehicle order Columbia will supply to the U.S. Department of Defense. Many of the vehicles delivered are similar to the Columbia "Summit" police vehicle pictured above.

U.S. Post Office Testing All-Electric Mail Delivery Trucks
According to Wired Magazine, the U.S. Postal Service is in the final stages of testing the use of electric vehicles as mail carriers. The all-electric test will be carried out in the Washington D.C. area. The U.S. Post office has the largest fleet in the country. In a related Wired article, the French government replacing its postal fleet with all-electric vehicles. The battery for the vehicle was developed by Johnson Controls of Milwaukee.
